Planning a Unique Christmas Party

Traditional Christmas parties are usually the norm when it comes time for entertaining around the holidays. Perhaps you would like to add a new twist that will make your Christmas party stand out from the rest yet still have all the conventional elements that most people come to expect.

How about a Ho Ho Christmas Party Where Santa is the Star

For the invitations you can get really creative if you would like to make your own. You can make invitations featuring Santa’s face, his belly or simply his hat. You can visit any local craft store or browse our site to find all the supplies you will need to make that one of a kind invitation.

The first things you will need are an assortment of Santa hats and insist that all the guests wear them. You can choose a light up spring Santa hat, red or blue sequined Santa hats or the traditional red felt Santa hats. You can even mix and match them and let the guests choose their favorites. Hand out green and red Mardi Gras beads for guests to wear along with their Santa hats and even provide Santa beards for those that truly want to get into the spirit.

Decorating for Your Santa Party

With Santa as the star of the show you can find a myriad of decorations at your local dollar or discount store. A life size cardboard cutout of Santa should greet the guests as they arrive or you can decorate with a foil door Santa. Hanging candy canes from the ceiling will be another nice touch and the guests can take them with them as favors when it is time to leave. For a real fun touch, find yourself some Santa toilet paper which will give your guests a big laugh each time they have to use the facilities.

Food & Drink

Set your table with a Santa centerpiece and use red and green plates, napkins and cups. Take the theme even further by using utensils of red and green. Put red and green garland around the table top to make it even more festive. You can sprinkle Christmas confetti on all tabletop surfaces. For drinks, get red and green glow sticks instead of conventional drink stirrers and for ice cubes, use red and green ice cubes instead of the usual clear ones if you can find them.

Favors & Games

Why not get a Christmas stocking piñata or one that is shaped like Santa and add adult prizes instead of candies. You can also get Santa suit tote bags that you can fill up with Christmas scented candles, candy canes and Christmas cookies for party favors. Why not take a photo of your guest in all their Santa splendor and give them out as an extra party gift as a reminder of your great Christmas party.

Just remember to get creative and have fun. That is what holiday parties are all about. They needn’t be the conventional wine and cheese with Christmas music playing in the background get-togethers, they can be as wild and crazy as you can make it.
